came for 10 special days and left too soon! He was born by emergency c section at 36weeks and 2days, on the 27/12/2010. I had already left work the week earlier for maternity leave!I had a healthy pregnancy and then one day I noticed the baby wasn't moving having gone to the hospital for a scan they said there was no fetal movement, my heart stopped but there was still a pulse a very high pulse. they took another scan and said the baby seems in distress and seems to have an enlarging of his bowel. I was so confused, what, why was this happening. The doctor has advised to do a blood transfusion as they thought it would help his survival. They did this to baby through me. after 9.5hours of waiting they finally started the procedure. following this they monitored baby's heart beat and I noticed it was going down until they could no longer trace a heart beat. I was then rushed in for an emergency c-section I was put to sleep. when I came around I was told my baby needed an operation that his bowels had twisted. He was blue lighted to a nearby specialist hospital and has a 4hours operation. It seems his smaller intestine had the most damage and he was left with 61cm of intestine. this was to become a big problem for the days ahead. they had put him in the nicu unit and he was the biggest baby there, 8pounds 2oz! they did an mri of his brain an discovered that he was severely brain damaged due to lack of oxygen at birth. he was with us for 10days and we had to make the hardest decision of our life and that was to turn of our sons life support. Our beautiful baby boy passed away on the 06.01.2011. I miss my son so much and cant begin to see the future with out him.x
